How Do I Give to Ethnic Studies?
Follow the link below for instructions on how to give to the University of Oregon securely, using your credit card or for information on other ways to give. If you want your gift to go directly to support Ethnic Studies, indicate your amount, and write in “DEPARTMENT OF ETHNIC STUDIES” in the Additional Gift Instructions box.
You can add a more specific designation in the box for Additional Comments, such as for the Marion Ballew Thomas Memorial Scholarship in Ethnic Studies (the only scholarship in Ethnic Studies for undergraduates) or to support the Ethnic Studies general fund (to help us direct your contribution to where we need it and to help cover expenses that are otherwise difficult to meet, such as those related to visiting speakers, film series, library acquisitions, student support, etc.).
What Will You Do With My Gift?
Ethnic Studies utilizes all donations for program development. A few examples include:
- Purchasing books & DVDs for the Ethnic Studies library all of these materials are fully accessible to Ethnic Studies majors & minors.
- The Marion Ballew Thomas Memorial Scholarship established in 2001, Ethnic Studies makes 1-3 awards per academic year. Each award is made in the amount of $500 and supports undergraduates engaged in studies that support the development of social awareness and analytical skills and who have a record of community service and demonstrated financial need.
- Student Enrichment Support gifts in this area allow Ethnic Studies to sponsor student attendance at professional conferences in the way of airfare & registration fees.
- Faculty Growth very substantial gifts can contribute to the endowment of a fund for a senior faculty member. Please contact us directly or contact the University of Oregon Foundation if you are interested in making a sizable gift.
Thank you for your interest in supporting Ethnic Studies!
