ENG 245 - African American Migrations

This course explores how the concept of migration has shaped African American writing from the Depression to the contemporary period. Through a selection of autobiographies, novels, historical essays, and film, we will study how notions of “movement” are used to depict community formation, individual growth, and the emergence of racial, gender, and political consciousness.
