ES 199 - Student Organizing

This class is an introductory course that will familiarize students with the basic principles of student organizing and activism. The purpose of this course is to foster student activism and develop a critical understanding of social justice issues concerning student advocacy and higher education. It will incorporate hands-on experience in running campaigns, leadership skills development, group trainings and reading theories of organizing and social change.  The Oregon Student Association’s Campus Organizer, Yasmin Ibarra, will be facilitating the class and the instructor of record is Professor Daniel Martinez HoSang.  This is a 2 credit, pass/no pass course.
