Major requirements
Minor requirements

The process to declare a Major or Minor in the Ethnic Studies department requires all interested students to meet first with one of our faculty advisors. These advisors are:

Prof. Charise Cheney

Prof. Lynn Fujiwara

Prof. Michael Hames-Garcia

Prof. Daniel HoSang

Prof. Ernesto Martinez

Prof. Alai Reyes-Santos

Prof. Stephanie Teves

Prof. Brian Klopotek

You may drop in during advisor office hours or schedule an appointment with an advisor by calling or emailing. Please see the faculty page for the most current term office hours and contact information.

In this meeting, your advisor will review with you your Degree Audit Report to see what you have done so far, what you need to complete for an Ethnic Studies Major or Minor, and what direction you would like to take with your academics in Ethnic Studies. Your advisor will help you create a course of study that is tailored to our class offerings, your interests, and what you may have already completed. You will also receive a Major/Minor Declaration Form that you will need to complete before any changes can be made; your advisor will have these available for you and must sign this form for it to be processed.
